you think I'm showy but i'm not at all Well it was nice knowing the kid understood me at least. She pointed down the hallway and I immediately headed that way. "So you're Danny..? That explains why you're here at least." But you'd think she'd know which way to go if that was the case- sure we were getting out of the darkest parts but this place certainly wasn't where we were before. This place actually was creepier than before. I blame the angels.
In my thoughts, Danny managed to wriggle herself out of my arms and run down the hall. I didn't want to think about who's blood that could be, so I ignored it as I followed the kid. "There you are, kid.." I sighed when I caught up. Why'd she lead me her? Another door? Or...huh, she was pointing. I followed the gesture and locked eyes with...why would she be trapped like that..? Why was she here? Was Danny trying to restrain this part of herself..? But why..? "Nononono-- we are not killing her. We need to..." ...I wasn't sure what to do. Danny- real life Danny- didn't know I was here, so I didn't want to intervene. What if she knew? I didn't want to betray her trust. But on the other hand I couldn't just leave the poor thing like this, even if she was an apparition of the mindscape...
I cautiously stepped towards the unicorn, kneeling down in front of her and gently placing a hand on her head. "Why would she do this..?" Using my magic, I tried to remove the spikes first.

Denied the request of the little girl, he came forward and place a hand on top of the monster's head. The unicorn tried to move away in fear, neighing in pain an worry. "Please... I didn't do anything... I was trying to help..." it spoke quietly with a rough and broken voice. As the Raven tries to help the monster, it couldn't help but let out a pitched shrieks and screams, trying to get away from him. But alas, the chains bound it to stay there, to be locked away deep within the minds and in hopes to be burned along with the pain memories. The little girl approached, knife in hand. She pointed the blade at the Unicorn, the monster froze in fear. "Flawed." answered the little girl, "The cause of extinction... Mother doesn't approve... Not... Perfect." she raised the blade, aiming to plunge it down to the monster's head.
What will you do, Raven? (a) Stop the Girl. (b) Protect the Unicorn. (c) Talk to the Girl.

you think I'm showy but i'm not at all "I know you were." I tried to comfort the unicorn as I worked, but it didn't seem like anything was helping. The chains...just how hard was Danny trying to repress this..? ...Would it be worth while freeing her..?
"Flawed..? What do you mea-- hey, put that knife down-- Kid--!" I didn't notice Danny walk up until she was right beside me, ready to slay the "monster". I reached my hand out and grabbed on to her arm before the knife could connect. "What are you doing?? Trying to kill part of yourself..?? ...Look, I don't know what exactly happened to you, but...I can say for sure you're not your past. No one is." Those were words of experience.
As I spoke, I tried to get the knife out of her hand and toss it to the side. "You're far from flawed. You're kindhearted, strong, interesting, and far, far, far from whatever beast you think you are..."

The little girl stared at him as he threw the knife away from the side, her eyes followed but only for a quick minute before averting her red eyes back to her friend. She shook her head, "Lies." she said, before pointing at the monster. "The past molds her. She will not let go. She is not perfect yet." she argued, she shook her head again. "You're not friend. You will rot here." she glared at both of them before running away. The monster looked at him, nudging his hand a little bit, "Thank you." it spoke before laying his head back down to the bloody floor. It took a deep breath before closing its eyes in exhaustion. "Are you... a friend... of her?" it asked slowly.
What will you do, Raven? (a) Follow the Girl. (b) Free the Unicorn. (c) Take the Knife.

you think I'm showy but i'm not at all "I know I didn't listen to you before, but can you please listen to me..?" I sighed, letting go of Dannys arm and giving her a quick pat on the head. "She's perfect already, you kno--" oh. "What do you mean by-- hey! Kid! ...And she's gone. Right, okay..."
I would've got up and followed her, but she was too quick. That, and the Unicorn distracted me. "Oh, no worries. What else was I supposed to do? Let her kill you?" Like hell I'd let Danny hurt herself like that. "You mean Danny? Yep, my name's Corbin. Nice to meet you." ...You know, she seemed like she's calmed down quite a bit. Maybe I could try to remove some of the chains and spikes again..? I couldn't just leave her, after all. Especially not with that knife-happy kid running around...
"...Here, I'm going to try something..." I shifted and grabbed onto one of the chains. This was the Mindscape, I should be able to do this...maybe a more direct approach was needed. "This won't hurt, I promise." Yellow fire appeared around the hand grasping the chain. Everything had a melting point, I just had to find it.

The monster sighed in relief, only to shake its head in response. "That's... her fears and doubts... the ideals of... mother..." it answered before tilting its head in curiosity. Friends? With her? "Corbin?... Ah..." it shook its head from the realization, "The angel..." it whispered before laying its head flat back to the floor. The monster averted their eyes to the Raven, curious to what he was about to do until fire appeared to his hands. The monster began to shake in fear once more, but his words gave little comfort as it tried to stop itself from shaking. The golden chains began to melt, slowly, leaving the shackles around its hooves. It looked at him, "Why?" it asked.
Not waiting for an answer, the monster looked down before standing up, forcing itself to plant its hooves against the stained floor. The spikes were there, still, but it didn't matter. "Follow... me... you... leave... go back..." it tried to speak.
What will you do, Raven? (a) Follow the Unicorn. (b) Look for the Girl. (c) Remove the Spikes.

you think I'm showy but i'm not at all "An apparition of her fears..? Interesting.." The unicorn mumbled something else, but I was too focused on the chains to pay attention. I needed to make sure the heat was focused, to make sure that the poor unicorn didn't get scorched. Slowly but surely the chains melted, leaving nothing but shackles and the spikes.
"Why? Because you're my friend. Now, to get those spikes out of you..." Before I could even think of touching the spikes, the unicorn slowly pushed herself up. I stood up and took a few steps back, giving her all the room she needed.. "Are...are you sure you want to be doing that?" I winced every time she moved, watching the spikes shift with her skin, jabbing into her legs and joints... "Here, at least let me take out the bigger ones before we go?" I stepped forward and reached out.
If she let me, I'd pull out as many as I could until there was either none left or Danny couldn't handle the pain, whichever came first. And if she refused, I guess I'd have to trail behind her?

Friend. The Raven considered the monster as his friend despite being forced to see a horrible memory of her past And yet, here he stands beside her, helping her. The monster nodded, moving along with the spikes in her joints and back. It averted its eyes to the Raven as it slowly approaches the monster, removing the larger spikes that pierced its almost white, transparent skin. The pain was excruciating, but relief washed over her as the spikes were left to the ground. Unfortunately for the monster, she could no longer hold the pain to the point of asking him to stop. When he did, the monster fell to the ground once more.
It looked tired. So tired. Was she still able to carry out her duty to point him to the exit? Or will it bled to death? No matter what, it will do its duty to guide the lost. It took the time to catch its breath before standing up and walked slowly. "How... did you... become... friends with... her?" it asked before spotting a single rose bloomed to one of the pillars. It turned to the Raven, nudging his hand with the Rose that was once on the pillar now on its mouth.
What will you do, Raven? (a) Take the Yellow Rose. (b) Don't take the Yellow Rose. (c) Look for the Girl.

you think I'm showy but i'm not at all The unicorn let me pull out quite a few before telling me to stop. She fell to the ground, taking a few moments to recover. Poor thing, why would Danny do this..? ...If the kid was her fears and doubts revolving her "mother", what was this one the fear of her past? Of her truth..? I quietly watched as she pushed herself back up again, seemingly determined to help me...
"Same circumstances, really." I gave a small shrug, following behind. "I don't know, we started talking and then one thing led to another and...yeah..." I followed the unicorn down the hall, stopped when she turned to the pillar. Next thing I knew she was handing me one of the yellow roses. "Oh, thank you." I accepted the rose, giving it a quick inspection before tucking it behind my ear. "...Where are we off to, by the way..?"

The monster cast a quiet glance behind her before nodding, "It... suits you..." it praised before looking around cautiously. "... Home...." it answered before walking along side with the Raven. Its hooves were heavily hitting the ground, exhaustion was evident to their eyes as if they were ready to drop dead. Nevertheless it pressed on, wanting to help the Raven to get out of this hell of a mind. Its eyes continue to watch the shadows that seems to loom to the corners of the halls. Head low, it listened for other footsteps, until... The monster's head perked up quickly, "She's... here..." the monster whined quietly as it step backward out of fear.
Another came along, walking slowly, sword in hand and dragged to the ground. It looked like the little girl, but she was older, red hair that reached her back, pale to almost transparent skin and wore a white, blood stained dress that reached the ground. She had the same halo like horn on her head, eyes were covered with a dirty blindfold while blood leaked out from her eyes. She comes closer.
What will you do, Raven? (a) Hide. (b) Run. (c) Don't Move.

you think I'm showy but i'm not at all "T...Thanks." I smiled to myself.
The more we walked the more concerned I grew, she seemed so...tired. Was it just because of her time chained up? Of pain? ...Of anything besides blood loss..? But as long as she kept standing, I'm sure it was fine..? I hope it was fine.
Nevermind. "What? Who?" The kid? I followed her gaze down the hall. That wasn't the kid. Shit, what was that? Another apparition, obviously, but of what..? I glanced around the hallway. There wasn't really anywhere for the unicorn to hide, and I didn't think that she was in any state to run... Could we stay quiet and wait for her to pass? It didn't seem like she could see us after all. "Stand still, I won't let her hurt you." I stepped to the side, wings shifting to hide the unicorn as much as I could. Please pass by, please pass by...

The Golden Maiden, came closer. And closer. She stopped infront of them, 'looking' at the Raven. Their heart beated louder through their ears. They stood still, silently in fear and in hopes that she won't notice. The gods had favored them for thee Maiden began walking once more, passing by quietly besides the golden sword getting dragged down to the tiles. Both waited for her to walk further more, until she was no longer in their view. The monster sighed in relief before walking once more, but hurried this time. "We... have to move... quickly... before she comes... back." it said quietly before leading the Raven to two giant doors. The monster looked up, then to the Raven. "This is... the most important memories... we have... to go i-"
A loud scream irrupted between the high halls. Then footsteps followed, they were heavy and fast. The Golden Maiden came back but with sword ready to swing. "Go!" said the monster as it blocked the Golden Maiden's path. "No!" screamed the Maiden as she raised her sword and sliced through the chest.
What will you do, Raven? (a) Enter by Yourself. (b) Enter Together. (c) Fight Back.

you think I'm showy but i'm not at all Please go, please go, please go?? I held my breath, staring the other down in hopes that it somehow encouraged her to go. Luckily, after what felt like forever, she continued down the hallway until she was out of sight.
"Agreed." I took another glance down the hallway and followed the unicorn again. We finally got to our goal; a large pair of golden doors. The most important memories, huh? I wasn't sure if this was a good idea, but the Unicorn seemed to want to go through--
Screaming echoed through the hall. I whipped around, coming face to face with the Maiden. Before I could react the Unicorn threw herself in front of me, taking the blow herself. "Danny--!" Shit-- I didn't want to fight, no I couldn't fight, not here, who knew what that would cause?? But I couldn't just leave her here! I had to...I had to--
I shifted into my true form, attempting to push the Maiden away with a gust of wind. Either way, I engulfed the Unicorn in my wings and tried to take her through the door with me. I wasn't about to let her die, not here, not like this!

The Golden Maiden was knocked over with the sudden guts of wind. The monster fell to her knees, bleeding before she was engulfed with the Raven's wings and flew threw to the door. The Maiden was about to enter but the door quickly shut together as soon as the two entered. The room was a large forest, full of magical creatures, but it was commonly roamed by Unicorns, creatures that didn't look like the monster. The monster laid itself to the grassy ground before letting out a pained moan. "Thank... you..." she said as she look up to the Raven formed Demon. She slowly shook her head, trying to get a better grip of her conscience. "No wonder... she saw you... as an Angel..." she mused.
As the area cleared out, the little girl was there. But she looked different? She had the same halo like horn behind her back and she was sitting on her legs, it seems that she was trying to make a flower with her power but nothing seems to sprout out of the ground. With a few more attempts, she threw her hands in the air and laid to the ground, "I give up!" she announced angrily before turning her belly on the ground and covering her face with her arms. "I'll never be like dad...."
What will you do, Raven? (a) Plant the Yellow Rose. (b) Keep the Yellow Rose. (c) Do Nothing.

you think I'm showy but i'm not at all It worked, holy shit it worked. I was terrified that I wouldn't be able to pick up the unicorn, or the maiden wouldn't be effected and would continue her onslaught! But it worked! And we were safe... I shifted back, dropping down to inspect her wound. It didn't seem too bad? But I wasn't an expert on this... "I couldn't just leave you. I should be thanking you, anyways. You're the one who took the blow.." No wonder she called me an...angel..? I could feel a blush coming on. "R-Right, anyways, how are you feeling..?"
As I glanced away I noticed the kid again. Well, a different version of her. A non-fear-apparition one. I watched her for a few moments...seemed like she was trying to grow something? Trying to be like her dad. "What am I going to do.." I quietly mumbled, running my hand through my hair- Oh right, that rose. I wonder... "Give me a moment, please..?"
I stood up and walked over, taking the rose from behind my ear and sticking it in the ground in front of the kid. Would it do anything? Probably not, this was a memory after all. But I wanted to try..
