It wasn't looking good for him, even though a week has passed, nothing seems to go back to the way it was suppose to be. He couldn't go back to work without stressing so much and couldn't even look at Atonix in the eye, something triggers inside of him, it something bad, and he hated it. He decided to take a break from everything, from work, from Atonix, from... everything. He stayed with Asenan when things got a little rough on his end, he was glad he took all of his stuff before going to the apartment he bought for him.
It was 2 am in the morning, it was cold but it never bothered the hybrid. Sitting against the railing of the small balcony, instead of the chair, he removed the cigarette between his lips and huffed. Releasing a long drag, sighing with content as he looked deep to the empty sky. Yellow containers present to the small round table, together with the box of mint cigarettes and steaming cup of coffee. He placed the lit one between his lips once more before tying his hair in a messy bun.
someone's here.
His tired purple eyes snapped to the open lights inside of the apartment, his eyes dilated for a little bit. Suddenly feeling tensed, "You're awake?" he asked, his tone a had a little harshness in it.

Things had never quite been the same.
True, Asenan hardly knew Vale before everything had happened. That didn't stop him from diving into danger for the man who showed him a scrap of kindness when he'd first arrived. The man who'd needed him for a moment. A life he'd finally manage to save. Or had he? Seeing Vale like this, Asenan wondered if he really had saved him. Standing in the doorway, he saw a shell of a man rather than a living being. It was early, very early, but he couldn't sleep. He could tell when there was someone else moving around the place, and it had been a long time since he'd heard such sounds.
Vale turned, and Asenan noticed the caution that hadn't been there when they'd first met. His eyes softened. Asenan himself was down to his slacks, showing off a form covered in scars. The most dramatic of which stretched across his throat, standing out in a deadly fashion. Yet despite his form fit for combat, his expression was gentle and harmless. He stayed where he was, nodding a little. His gaze roamed the containers and the strange smokes that made his stomach twist in disgust. Vale had taken to them quite often, and every time he'd turned... odd. Asenan was pretty certain it wasn't healthy, and he was still thinking on the idea of hiding them. He'd already hidden a few to cut down on the supply, but somehow Vale always got more.
"Couldn't... sleep?" His voice soft as his gaze as he finally moved from the doorway, still giving Vale plenty of space like he was dealing with a cornered animal. His hooves clicked faintly as he moved with care.

The hues of his own eyes trailed to the exposed upper body of Asenan, trailing off the scars that littered his body, some were deep and some were light. But the crown jewel of the man was the scar on his throat, he felt pain on his own throat, holding it with his free hand as he look away immediately. Clicking his tongue from the memory that resurfaced, remembering how his body was failing to listen to his most inner conscience, tearing himself up to the point of dying. It was horrible. He had his own fair share of scars, but some had already healed over the course of time.
The only thing left was the scars of the recent events. His body was only covered in a thin layer of a white shirt and old jeans. He finished the stick with one long drag and turning the remaining flame off the bud from the amber ashtray. He grabbed the box of cigarettes and took another one, lighting it up with his thumb. He blew off the gray smoke from the other side of his head before looking back to his friend, body tensing up as he walked carefully towards him. Vale couldn't help but bare his teeth slightly, although as Asenan leaned against the doorway, he relaxed a bit with a small sigh.
easy now. we don't want another fight here.
Vale trailed his eyes down to the cold floor before taking the mug and sipping his coffee. "I guess. Did I wake you up?" he asked as he tries not to stare too much to his scars. "I put you on a rough position, haven't I?" he added, taking another heavy drag.

Asenan looked out over the balcony. The unfamiliar city was lain out before him, with an equally unfamiliar sky above. He sought some meaning in the stars but could find none of the familiar constellation. Not even the most prominent star of all, Iahsus, lay above. It reminded him so often just how far from home he really was.
A soft exhale passed his nasal cavity. The expression was steeled into unreadable and well-practiced neutrality. Gentle, understanding, but nothing deeper. It was the look of a trained bodyguard.
"Yes..." An honest answer passed his lips with a faint shrug, and eventually, the blue hues slipped over to Vale, catching the long stare. "It's... been a long time... since I've been... in an occupied home..." Passing any blame that might fall on the mans shoulders, he stated it as a simple fact before looking away once more. His gaze had lingered just a little too long when Vale had lit up that second smoke, and now he pushed back the urge to just snatch it and toss it over the railing. He leaned his arms against the edge, taking a more relaxed and open, almost more vulnerable posture. He tried not to wrinkle his nose as the bit of smoke hit his senses, making his eyes water. A tilt of his head masked this with a curtain of silver locks.
"It's... alright... Not your fault. I made... a choice... to go in."

Ah. So it was. He shrugged his shoulders a little bit, not bothered from the fact that he did. The once lively young man that lived inside of him was long gone, ripped away from him when those men took him right in front of his home, the home that he might not call his anymore. "Me too." he answered with a quiet tone as he place the cigarette between his lips, just hanging there to prevent himself from talking more. He watched the man rest his arms against the railings of the balcony, face slightly covering with his own hair. Minding his own business. Both of them are.
Vale couldn't help but scoff quietly on his answer, was it really? Was it really his choice? "Weren't you dragged by Atonix in the first place?" he asked, not sure if he was trying to put the blame on Atonix for making Asenan see the ugly side of him, of this world. He took another sip from his coffee, cigarette between his fingers. Tasting the minty flavor along with the bitterness of his coffee. Since when did he start drinking black coffee? He didn't quite remember, but it always goes well with cigarettes. "You weren't suppose to be there, they just wanted Atonix. That's what they always talk about." he growled, biting his lower lip.
He remembered Atonix, his heart ached. He wasn't sure, if this can still go on. He knew from the start, something was already different between them. So why force it? He didn't understand. He didn't understand any of this, and everything is just making him so fucking confuse.

'Me too'. There was a whole story there, untold. He didn't push Vale. If he wanted to tell it, he would. Asenan wasn't the type to force that choice.
The two were quiet awhile before Vale challenged his statement. It broke the wall briefly as he peered between the locks of silver, a single black sclera and blue luminous iris visible. "No," he breathed, shaking his head, looking Vale dead on. "It... was an accident... but I chose... to follow. I could have... left. I chose... not to." His lip curled as he struggled to swallow a cough, turning into a stiff grimace and an awkward clearing of his throat.
He was left with something to mull over, and after a minute longer he posed a question. "Who... were 'they'?"

A choice, huh? When was the last time he was given a choice? He refuse to look at him, but when he heard his cough he sighed and turned off the cigarette against the ashtray. Asenan wasn't fond of him smoking, hell, the guy tried to cut down his supply by hiding a few, only to be found again by Vale. He knows he was trying to help, but that wasn't helping him at all. Then, the question. It was short and simple, and it posed a threat to Vale. His grip tighten against the mug he was holding with his hands. His breath hitched, eyes dilating from the sudden flashbacks of two men, standing in front of him, talking.
Red eyes and an empty smile. Something triggered to his core, it made him angry, confuse, scared, and an overall emotional mess. However, he didn't let Asenan see those. He didn't want to worry him anymore, he gulped everything down as he tried to speak after drinking his coffee. It was almost empty. "People... Just people." he answered with his voice shaking. Was it in fear, I wonder? Or was it anger? He placed the mug down on top of the table and brushed his hair off his face. Showing the growing distress in his expression.
"... He never really cared... You know?" he said, changing the subject.
