I think with my heart And move with my head "Oh, sorry. If we're using formal titles then just call me Time. The Temporal Guardian or Time Incarnate, if you want to be fancy." It was always entertaining listening to egotistic mortals like this. They always thought that they'd win, that they'd able to kill them at the very least. How quaint. "I'm glad we're on the same page. En guarde."
Diomente's blade got caught on the parrying hook, allowing Res to twist the sword out of the way. He was out of arms length and instead of closing the gap Res took a few steps backwards to create distance. They raised their shield again and held their sword over their shoulder- ready to strike when the opportunity struck.
"You're quite quick, aren't you?" They mused as they circled around the opponent. "I wonder how fast you'll fall once I outpace you? Oh, and I very much hope that you're not disappointed by the fact that I'm not aiming to kill. I'm not as bloodthirsty as everyone else in this town."
After a few more steps they striked, swinging the sword over their head this time to try and get behind his blade.

Time Incarnate? Temporal Guardian? Time? He huffed giving a dramatic eyeroll, who gave a damn about this person? Oh right that Wanna-be Jacob that was who, complete waste of his time. But this 'Time' as the Subject seemed to Love Calling themselves parried twisting away quickly backing up distancing. "For An Almight Being of Time, you're bit of a Coward... Running away distancing oneself... Depending on a Shield, Ha! Shields only slow you down, Creature of Temporal Structure." He gave a slight chuckle watching as the Subject kept circling him speaking out to him.
"Disappointed? Oh... I care Not to Kill You... Or Event keep you Here. I am but a Leader of this Lab Desiring to Understand Why... You come to here and Dirty up the place. " His eyes studied the Subject's movement, Charging the Subject held the sword over their head Aiming to get past his guard... Just too bad, He took the surrounding Light Combining it Darkening the Edges further down, Before releasing it all at once into the Time's direction. Quickly using his speed to Step backward and around the Subject aiming to knock on the back neck before side stepping once more into a dancing movement distancing himself preparing to see the Masterpiece. "Darling, Enjoyed your Stay?."

Shields allow you to think and plan, to protect yourself in the heat of battle. Or beat your opponent senseless." Shield bashing was a viable tactic for a reason. "Well, that's a coincidence. I want to understand what Midas is planning."
The light struck right before their sword would've connected. Instead of following the attack through, the tower shield was summoned and stabbed into the ground. Res shut their eyes and ducked behind, quickly standing back up as soon as the attack dissipated. Where was he-
Res stepped forward and turned heel, shield propped up in front of them a as they stabbed the sword and reach up to check for blood.
"Hm. It's been interesting, but I wouldn't say I'm particularly enjoying this. Good shot, however. Guess I'll have to up the ante." Res's eyes flashed a bright gold and they charged again. They were lightning quick this time, aiming for the legs. | commentary |

The Plan was Absolute! Perfection! But. No not flesh met, the oponent At such Ease dodged his attack with Shield in Hand! Then turned to attack, Eyes flashing a Blazing GLorious Gold! He stepped back held up a hand, "Wait!" He shouted with all his might, a small smirk forming. Should his shout not reach he'll pull up a light barrier to block the attack. "How About A Deal? You tell me What you seek, I just provide it? Hmmm.. I rather not split my ends this day, as you see... My reputation on the line, and well repairs are needed State! Before the... others learn of this catastrophe." He cleared his throat, eyes giving a slight narrow reading to keep dodging should they keep attacking, but willing to lower shield if they lowered weapon. Upon a Trickster move, they'd use their speed to dodge and hold the shield up preventing lose of balance. |

Res thought for a moment before stepping back, stabbing the tip of the blade into the tile. They hesitantly let go of the hilt, placing their hand in their pocket as they curiously looked at Diomente. Despite giving up the sword, Res refused to let go of the shield. Fighting without one or the other was doable, but to fight without both was near impossible.
"Deals are usually made when both parties give up something, and, knowing you Midas types, I doubt my disarmament is sufficient pay." They quietly eyed him up. The temperature dropped a few degrees before Res spoke up again. "So. Out with it. What do you want, Doctor? Let it be known that I will not take an unfair deal. I have other methods of getting what I want, after all."
...By that they meant running around the facility a bit more until they found some sort of concrete info and evidence on what Midas was doing. Hopefully something that justified divine intervention- none of what they found so far was enough justification.

The sword came down into the tile out of the way, course' he could easily cheat here.. But where's the virtues in that? Besides this was what...A thief? Who desired to know more, perhaps he could turn this to his own advantage? Hmmm? He released a dramatic sigh playing the fool relaxing his shields and attack. He fixed his attire, dramatically flipping his hair correctly before grinning... Was that? Sparkly teeth? What was this A girl's cartoon?
"See, Your Disarmament is Most definitely a worthy sufficient pay! We're not such heartless fools, we're rather respectful and care about Humanity's Highest potential. I do not understand Why the Midas care So Much for that Jacob boy. Time.. Is just a waste, after all his research has ended in failure and failure again and again. Plus One such as yourself an Expert of these practices surely understand that Time Need not be Bothered. As it'll always be a Pointless Endeavor to stop it."
He paused here clearing his throat, "First. I am Not Doctor, I am Doc. Do not Call me but such Low standards. Why... I'll even take PHD Expertise of Biological Engineering, if you're attempting to Dazzle me." He re-positioned himself, looking a little.. Happy to move his hands before continuing speaking to the person before him, "Yes. This Deal. I give you what you seek, and you leave My Facility Alone? No more Embarrassing my Faculty, Myself, and this Building's structure. So. What Do you Say?" |

I think with my heart And move with my head "It's not often you find someone of your virtues." Their eyes narrowed as he talked about Jacob. "...And you'd be right. While I don't agree that Time is a waste per-say, the endeavor of trying to harness and control it is a fruitless effort for mortals."
Oh. Right. He's egotistic. "PHD Expertise of Biological Engineering"...well, at least they knew what his deal was. Could they try and bait him into talking about his work? Biological engineering is pretty important if you want to try and convert someone's biological structures, and Diomente seems like the person to talk if you could praise him enough. But having to leave the the building alone? ...Despite his title, he did seem to be a bit of a fool.
Res started at the doctor in thought for a few long moments before finally nodding. "Leaving you and your offices alone for information sounds like a fair deal indeed. Now, what exactly do you do Mr...what was it again? PHD Expertise of Biological Engineering? That sounds like quite the achievement. You must be the head of quite a few projects here with credentials like that."

Good Good, they'd agreed to take the deal. Why! Even agreed how Great he was, he gave a slight chuckle. "Why yes.. Quite am. In fact I run this whole facility and All the research that goes in it! As you probably noticed... The Beauty Cleaniness and Upgrades were all Encouraged and Done By Me. So as you see, I am Very Enthusiastic that you had taken the deal. Now My... Guest. What is it you'd like to know?"

It was going to be fun seeing his face when he realized they never explicitly agreed to his deals, they only said that they'd leave him and his offices alone. Nothing more, nothing less. It wasn't their fault he didn't look deeper into their words.
"There is a lot I want to know. But I'll start with a simple one for your sake. What is Midas's goal? I seen a list detailing residents of Gravity Falls who you think would make good Unicorns and Angels. What is all of that about?" It was a shame that they switched gears from temporal issues to whatever you could call this mess. At least when they were messing with the Timeline, Res knew what was going on and how they were doing it. But they were completely in the dark with this... "And, a better question that I'm sure you can answer, Sir PHD in Biological Engineering, how does one go about that?"

He gave a slight huff sound puffing out his chest, "Why of Course' to Make Humanity Great and Pure again!" This Blurt came out a son of bitch Loyal patriot to his country, as if Pride was the greatest thing of all. The question response was followed up with.. How he Planned to do that. He barely gave a thought to his answer, almost looking 'prettier' in shine. "Why... By Forcing them to Embrace the Virtues of Perfection. Cleanliness! Honesty! Charitable! Hope! Faith! Fortitude! Justice! Prudence! AND Temperance! Thus These few BORN with Purity Within THEIR VERY OWN Veins are Worthy of MY attention. Otherwise Those.. Unworthy.. Will be taken to our care, where we will gratefully help them recover from their past mistakes and grow more In-tuned to their Unicorn or Angelic Purified sides."
He shifted a little before giving a small sigh and chuckle, "Yes. Well. Time for you to go. Glad we can have this little.. Chit-chat. Perhaps no more Breaking and entering.. Hmm?"

Res looked more unimpressed than before, but they let the unicorn finish his rant before rolling their eyes. "Well, thank you for that explanation. Quite informative. I just hope there's a way to reverse whatever 'purification' process Midas is performing on these poor victims."
Res reached over and grabbed their blade, yanking it from the ground and carefully examining the tip. "Correct. Once I'm done my duties here there will be no need for me to break in again. I never explicitly agreed to your terms, but you agreed to mine. I said that I shall leave you and your offices alone, and you agreed to that. Shall you go back on our deal and break the trust of Time I will have no option but to strike you down where you stand."
They started to walk past Diomente, glancing his way and giving him the smallest of smirks. "But I'm sure a man of your virtues will stay true to his word."

Read a history Book! Read a history book! Why he Lived it! Was there at Every single Horrid Humane thing out there, such horrid horrid stories he could tell. Just thinking of Helen could bring a tear to his eye, how they all just fell victim to world of impurity and man. "Reverse? Why ever would you desire to do that, besides... They all signed Documentation giving Us permission to work on them. If you'd bothered to ask instead of assuming you'd know this. We are Not such horrid people to experiment without Follow the Law." He gave a slight fake gasp even with the hand on his chest.
They seemed to ignore him, grabbing the blade explaining about the deal and how technically nothing can be done. He gave a huff, "Why... To believe you'd pull such a thing, a little tramp you are! Well... The deal says nothing against me Accompanying you, after all.. I'd rather you not _break_ anything. Why I'll even give you a tour or answer Any Questions you desire. For what I am doing is Helping everyone, and One of your Status should after all.. Understand that." |

Now that makes more questions than answers. "Just because you follow the law doesn't make it virtuous. I'll be the judge of that." Maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to read up up whatever contract they've been having people sign, see what kind of lies they've been telling people.
Res had already passed by Diomente by the time he mentioned joining them. He was right, and they did say that they'd leave him alone...
"Fine." Res finally huffed, turning around to face the scientist. "You can join me. However we are going at my pace and at my discretion. If you get in my way we will have issues, but if you can prove yourself useful and not pull anything behind my back we'll have no problems."
They turned back around and started walking. "...Let's test the waters and start simple, shall we? There was three offices back down the hall- one was yours, one was Jacob's, but the last one had no name. Who owned that office and what's their story?"

He puckered up a bit at the 'guest' exclaiming they knew what was virtuous and what was not, how would an entity that stole from labs know about virtues? Why the 'guest' didn't even have a scent of unicorn or angel on them!
He did give a slight dramatic clap as the Time Thief allowed him to come along, quickly giving don't do anything and I won't do anything type speech. Before turning and walking off down a random hall, quickly asking the first question. He gave a slight laugh, "The one without a name used to be My room, why Of course'... Till I became Promoted and Took the Leader's Room. As for My story you will just Love it! Starts at the beginning of My life's creation was when this child a maiden truly used for Hunting of men to trap unicorns... Met this Horrid Horrid Monster of nightmares, the Man-eating Unicorn, one that had been consuming the villagers. Well.. This young maiden barely made it with her life, scarred psychologically.. To the point That I was born. Why... How I used to watch her struggle night and day.. Just sweating sometimes even bleeding. Then one day, I was but young and foolish.. Pushed her to point of a heart attack. A Wondrous wanderer I became... Walking the Great Deserts exploring the Ancient civilizations.. Watching as they Grew and fell....
Till a Maiden of High Virtuous approached me, this was after the Great Unicorn God had disappeared.. and She was but a desperate one.. Should've seen the sparkle in her eye, I believe her idea was Brilliant! So I encouraged her supported her! Together we created a New Foundation! To Recreate the Lost worlds of Virtues and Purity. I think with my heart And move with my head So it used to be his room until he took the leaders room. Res opened their mouth to ask who the leader was, only to be interrupted by Diomente. "That is not necessary--" And he's rambling on. Great.
But at least it gave them a bit of background into this unicorn- and a lot of background info about this whole purification mess.
"I'm presuming the heir you're talking about is Diego? The altar boy with the air of unease...he's a nice kid all things considered." Why would he be chosen to be the next heir of Midas? But who was the traitor? And who was the angel and "King Aurthors Heir" for that matter? "I have to say, the amount of info you've given me is spot on but the quality is something you should work on."
It would be smart working from most important info to least important; who knew what was lurking in the halls? More scientists and guards was the most likely answer...hm, well, in the worst case scenario they had a hostage right there. "Loyalty is arguably the most important virtue a mortal can have. Speaking of, you mentioned that you were sent to keep an eye on a "horrid traitor". Am I correct to presume said traitor is related to Midas in some way? Or is my intuition off?"
As the two walked, Res kept an eye out for signs, name plates, and maps. Anything to help them get an idea of where in the facility they were and to help them build a mental map.
