Where was this? How did we get here? Why are we...
I shifted back and took a few steps into the new room. It was cozy, at least, between the decorations and the pictures and the view outside. The concerning part was the static at the end of the hallways, but it seemed more like a barrier rather than something to worry about.
I took a moment to explore my surroundings, flinching when the voice started talking. Damian..? But I thought it was just me and Ant! Where was he??
"Damian? Where are y--oh?" The cat. That was the source of the voice. It sounded like Damian but it didn't...sound like him either...
Giving a quick glance over towards Ant, checking where he was in case something went south, I stepped closer to the "cat". "Who are you? Why are we here?"

Door opened up to a new room, and it looked.. like a family room of sorts? Christmas tree, family, and all... Atonix felt like he'd just walked into a combination of his original College to early Research years.. To Questionable this present day's. He wanted to reach out and geek over the old computer set-up, why even a slow smile crossed his face at the whole set-up.. It was like timetraveling, without using his powers at all. There was even a tiny christmas tree on a tbale, just there.. little lights flickering.. Then a window with snowy outdoors, snowy farm, it felt.. Like he was home.. In thoes tiny younger years, when He and Ethan were best friends.. Forgotten times.
The room broke off into Static left and two in the right.. He slowly stepped forward curious what happened should he touch them... Before a voice suddenly sounded, afraid breaking something he took the one step back, eyes flickering to what looked to be a black cat... That.. Was new? He guessed? He tilted his head slightly piecing the cat form as Damian together... Before slowly relaxing at the cat's tone.. going to the window to get a better view of Familiar lands, trying to place the terrain. Before giving up, turning around facing Corbin and 'Neko-Damian'. Not saying a word as Corbin already asked everything he wanted to know. |

The terrain was flat and small and woodsy. Very country. Outside was a wooden table with pieces of wood, like some odd woodshop corner. Past that was a mound and little flags and a black mailbox... all very very country. A black big truck/van with antlers on he front could be seen in he driveway. VERY country indeed.
The cat flicked a tail smiling in some way. "Don't look so worried. I was going to do some elaborate test but uh.. I sort of forgot about this thread. Plus, considering what you're in for in the near future I figured I should cut you some slack. So yeah." He hopped forward. Changing as his feet hit the ground. HER feet. A female with dark hair down just past her shoulders. Familiar hazel eyes. But more feminine with her turtle neck and gray comfy sweatpants. A green lanyard with a set of keys hung around her neck.
"This is just a projection. Figured we could talk a bit before I give you your gift if you like, and we'll... home seemed like the best place. Your home slash my home I guess?" A meow could be heard and a big white and black fluff ball of a cat sneaked into view before it was scooped up and snuggled. "So yeah take a seat. I bet you have questions." Damian gestured with a warm cheerful smile.
Had that glittering silver box always been under the tree?

The players excuse to have multiple plot lines go on at the same time? ...That didn't make things better. But at least we didn't go through that "Elaborate Test"..? "How considerate.."
I watched the cat jump up and shift into a woman.
Of course. Why wouldn't it? These damned Players and their games and their..."gifts". Keh. I rolled my eyes at the mention of a ""gift"", pausing when I noticed the box below the tree. That wasn't there...no, it had to be.
"Right, right, fine. We can talk." I walked over to the couch and sat down with a huff. "Questions? Yeah, yeah, what the hell is your game here? What "Gift" are you planning on giving me?"
...can i pet your cat?

A knowing, almost sheepish smile answered that first question. "Liquid Time," she affirmed in response to the unspoken question. Relaxing on the couch again, nuzzling into the cat like some kind of pillow. The cat seemed suspiciously cautious of the new people, but extremely content about being held. Clearly a cuddler at least to his 'mom', even headbutting her face when pettings stopped. The expression Damian wore was awkwardly sympathetic. "It wasn't going to be anything bad," he defended uncomfortably.
Sighing, she looked over for awhile. "Well, these gifts.. are being handed out. Something that was going to be thrown away is instead being... reused. Giving you a chance to... get someone back who was lost. Or something like that. So I roll a dice and well, you got lucky. In fact, you got the most overpowered one. Pretty sure you'll have Ginger running for her money, or even Dys with this one. Actually, I wonder if this puts you on the same level as her... in a weird reflection kinda way?" She paused, blinking slightly. "Ugh, sorry, total tangent. Anyways once you get your gift this will be over, so... yeah, if you have any other questions nows the chance." There was a pause, and then Damian got up and dumped the cuddly cat gently in the birds lap.
"And yes you can pet Enigma. But if you make fun of my cat naming I'll beat you up."
Damian looked over to Atonix for a minute. "Sorry Tonix, guess this is kinda.. extra weird for ya, huh? I didn't really plan to have both of you dragged in on this originally but uh... I'd feel bad only giving Corbs here something nice, so let me see if I can scrounge up a gift for you too. All things considered I mean... the other Damians can't really comfort you in the future... So... eh..." She sighed, and suddenly stepped forward, trying to give Atonix a tight hug. "I don't know the full story and it's not really my doing but... I'm sorry. And I know giving you a gift is like a shitty bandaid patch but... It's the best I can do."
After a minute Corbin would also receive a hug because hell, Damian had wanted to do that for ages. Just hug these poor souls.

This.. Felt.. like talking to a God.. He'd had lots of experience by now.. Alternate world of their Creation.. Giving Gifts to their chosen champions.. Mysteries hinting and words, and things he didn't quite understand.. and it Frustrated him so, reminded again and again.. Just a human in this world he tried so hard to be a part of. As it seems the two shared a moment, clarifying this 'liquid time' he felt baffled.. As one who had traveled Multiple Timelines.. Seen the Stream of time.. They acted both events were happening at exact same time, which meant all events were.. Which they.. Were.. In No Man's Lands.. oR NeverLand.. But. Same time.. he didn't quite understand, it was different..
He thought of the Data.. The wallbreaking.. It.. it.. held a different meaning didn't it? Something he never quite.. Understood.. Or captured.. Maybe, it was awful to ask a.. god? Was this.. Thing a Disguise Damian god? The question.. As.. He been told over and over.. He reached too far, too greedy.. selfish.. ambitious for the knowledge of the world's inter-workings.. But, he just. Felt so Out of the loop.. Eye staring at the Female Damian before him.. The one that..
Going to be nothing bad? From a Roleplayer? The Gifts.. Were going to be thrown away? Rather voted to be reused? Rolling a Dice? Lucky? This. Was like.. Dealing with champions and Gods all over again.. Enslavement, told he shouldn't be going certain places.. Dealing with certain things.. Having Ginger run for her Money? Dys... Dys.. ? Even Dys? Did that mean Dys was the stronger of the two He.. felt.. Misplaced, confused.. and Even more so after the cat petting.. The.. The.. Odd words spoken directly to him.. About Comfort.. Hugging him, full story.. Did he mean.. Like Time Travel tyranny? The-the past mistakes? Atonix was just baffled, just sensing no.. the future..Something awful was going to happen, but what?
He dared approach after the hugging, dared to question, hoping the Roleplayer wouldn't swear vengeance on him. What was the worst could happen? Turned into a Neko again? Enslaved? Been there.. Done that. "Da-da-damian... What is Liquid Time? Like.. I know Time is a type of liquid flowing and breaking off... And the Islands created are neverland.. But.. This. this.. You're referring to a type of Wallbreaking, aren't you? I-I don't understand.... " He gulped body slightly quivering..

"Keh. Liquid time is the Players sorry excuse to do multiple threads at once, to be able to forget threads and pick them up later with no cause and effect." I intervened before Damian could respond. "It lets them do things to us in the future and then come back and taunt us before anything happens...isn't that right?"
Overpowered gifts and dice rolls and of course they'd pull this! Why wouldn't they let fate and luck determine outcomes instead of actually thinking for once?

...I blinked a few times when the cat was put onto my lap, slowly reaching up and scratching it behind the ears. Enigma? Cute name. Why he had such a good cat was beyond me, considering his sins.
"Yeah right you feel bad for him.." I muttered. Damians..? As in, plural? What happens in the future? Did they do something else to that poor guy? Wasn't breaking him more than enough for you guy??
I quietly grumbled when the Player came over and gave me a hug. What do they do? What does he know??

A flinch crossed her face. "I... guess that's a fair way to put it... It basically... well its all a forum right? And each thread takes place on the date of the first posting... But sometimes multiple threads happen at once. Like right now, you come from the point of November 28th, correct? But as of this writing, it is now January 15th. When you return, it'll still be November 28th for you. But I have the awarence of seeing threads from other dates. But... in this case yeah, I.. did get a bit lazy. I'm not trying to taunt you though. I just... Ginger and them would be upset if I went and just.. outright said what happened. Not just for some 'spoiling the story' stuff. It makes things complicated. Threads would need to be changed because you'd have knowledge of stuff to come, and would change what you do. But... I do feel bad knowing this stuff.."
She took a breath that turned into a sigh. "Tonix, you don't gotta worry. I'm not a god or full of that kinda stuff. I'm a writer, and you just.. unfortunately learned you're part of the story. But I'm not out to get you, or punish you. Just be you, okay? I know its hard to grasp but... Best way to explain it would be to watch Inkheart? Except instead of book characters coming to life, it's the opposite." A shrug and a small fond smile passed her lips. "It's a good book. Okay movie."
"And as for 'breaking Damian', don't forget that poor sod of shit is me. Was me." She made a small motion and sighed. "Go figure I'm a bit of a masochist, I guess." A small, weak smile was made. "You guys got any other questions before we get to the gifts?"

Corbin explained it... Liquid time.. Damian filled in the gaps.. Frmo a God's? no.. Just a Writer's point of view of the situation.. and He kinda understood, no.. Didn't kinda.. He did understand, all of it.. It was just like messing with time, placing hints there.. Setting things.. Changing things.. He wouldn't do such things, maybe at first when he played with time, but then.. He knew the consequences flickers in time.. He gave a small nod, taking the information in.
So no warning for the future, but something happened.. Damian then offered about the gifts.. and last questions, he calmly held up his hands... Heart thumping, "Could we Just Jump into the Future? See how it goes, and Change it? Or... Will the Writers stop us? To perfect the Story they're creating.... Like Puppets on a string controlled"
He knew the answer... BUT HE BE DAMNED... he didn't ask... Already his hand was clenching wishing he could just.. SEE what is going on in the future... KNOW how to stop it.. JUST.. no. No.. don't play with time.. No... this ISNT EVEN ABOUT TIME! This was about HIS LIFE.. and was he EVEN considered ALIVE?! Just WHY THE HELL.... Did this world exist?!

"Oh sure, you guys don't care about ruining the timeline any other day, but the one moment it'd benefit us you pull the "Oh, Ginger would be upset" and "Oh, it makes things complicated" cards!" I huffed. If it wasn't for the cat I would've hopped up, but alas I was pinned down.
So I just listened to Damian continue.
Stupid dumbass players and their god forsaken "magic" I don't care if you don't consider yourself a God or whatever, you still have God-like powers! If the boot fits, wear it.
"I agree with Ant, could we see what happens? Just call it a "Split Timeline" or something, I don't know, you guys don't follow the rules so why start now?" I was curious. Did I do anything useful in the future? Did anything change? Or was it the same hell, just a different day? "...And why are you doing this whole gift giving thing now, or rather, in the past? Does the site finally die and you needed to fit this in somewhere?"

A sigh escaped as she looked between them in a tired manner. She looked older somehow, more tired. "Look, that's not my call. None of my boys were involved. You're gonna have to risk taking that up with the bigger folks really. Fun fact by the way Tonix? It's now the 17th. Liquid time is weird huh?" She wondered if Atonix would find it interesting or upsetting. Hopefully the former.
"But on to gifts. For you Corbin, we'll... as you know Damian died. When he did, his soul, everything human about him was fractured into pieces. You've already been incredibly close to some. Too bad you chose the wrong hallway. Well it doesn't matter anyways because I'm giving you the strongest piece. The one that makes him... different from this world. And combined with the wallbreaking you already posses... well I'd like to say you'd be pretty dastardly. But you can't have it just yet. Soon. When one damian becomes three to your eyes... you'll feel it. You'll know."
She snapped, and the silver flame danced in her palm before vanishing. Then she started digging in a bag. "As for you Atonix I have... oh jesus Christ Ginger why do I have so many damn creature eggs...Hydra...bloody what the he'll is a rose goblin?? Uh... well I have a spare of these overpowered edgy books. Maybe too edgy... Champion items kinda useless unless I count as a God. Which is a weird ass thought.. seriously all these eggs, I should make Aaron open a farm. Uhhh... lots of tokens. You feel like changing races? Probably not huh... ooh.. that one would be stupidly broken jeez... hmm. Lots of fancy quest tickets. Poke balls? Sadly too weak for throwing at Nathan but still funny. Ugh. . Anything catch your eye yet?"

And coupled with my wallbreaker...could I fix things with that power? End these games, save my friends... "When one becomes three...gee! I sure do love you Players and your cryptic messages."

When she started digging through her bag I glanced over towards Atonix. Poor guy seemed lost, so I stood up, cradling Enigma in my arms, and walked over to stand beside him. "Just give him a ticket or something simple like that, no need to play mind games with two people here." Besides, did he look like he was in a state to be taking care of living things? "...So is this all? Talking and gift giving?"

"Yeah... Like her." A shrug was given. "And don't forget, those are MY memories you're talking about." She stared at Corbin for a minute, then looked away awkwardly. "So yeah, I... forget it." She shook her head. "It's in the past anyways. Besides, you should probably be glad you didn't get that piece. I imagine Henry's not happy with her new... changes." She chuckled a bit. "Anyways leave me my bit of fun. I suck at riddles usually." She sighed, looked to Atonix with sympathy. "Man... you need like... Here." She dug out a number of items and tossed them over. The golden ticket vanished once he touched it, but the other two remained. An egg, and a red and white ball.
"One golden ticket for a useful adventure. That egg has a cottonfly in it, because frankly you look like you need something to hug right now. And that..." She tapped the ball. "Pokeball. Classic pokemon, except you can use it on like.. almost anyone. Usually weaker folks. If you try it on Nathan, it's not gonna work. But like... Human me? Easy snatch. Or if it's someone that's like... unconcious. You know, typical stuff. If you feel like you need to rein someone in well... Or you just need an eternal cuddle buddy. Frankly, I was just gonna mess around and have Demon Damian throw it at random people. Or Shiku." She shook her head. "Poor Shiku's a walking dead battery right now... Also you realize you could've walked out that door whenever you wanted right?" She pointed to the front door. "You guys chose to stay this whole time. So don't blame me. I just opened the door to come in. You can choose to go back out whenever you want. Or keep me company, ask more questions if you have any. Corbin will have plenty of freedom to do that at his leisure, but this is your only chance Atonix. Just uh.. please don't steal my cat. I sort've need my fuzzy anti-depressant." She laughed in a dry, awkward humor sort of way.
